About Me: I grew up in Reston, Virginia, and attended Virginia Tech, majoring in Biological Sciences with a Biomedical focus and minoring in Medicine and Society. I continued my education at VCOM - Virginia in Blacksburg, where I discovered my passion for Psychiatry during my medical school rotations. The positive experiences I had highlighted the specialty's benefits for my personal and professional growth. I was drawn to this program by the strong sense of community I felt during my audition. The welcoming atmosphere made me feel like part of the team, where my opinions were valued, and I enjoyed the camaraderie with the residents. The program's supportive environment has been a consistent and enriching aspect of my residency experience here.

About Me: I was born in Cuba and raised in Naples Fl. My interest in mental health emerged during my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. As I completed my Psychiatry clerkship in medical school I knew this was the right field for me. I loved the variety of the patient population and the high acuity of care provided in the inpatient psychiatric unit.

About Me: I was born in Cuba but was raised in South and Central Florida. Through undergrad and my first years of medical school, I never imagined I would end up choosing psychiatry as my specialty. However, after my first week of psych clerkship rotations, I was hooked! Not only did psych perfectly merge my passion for medicine with my interest in psychology, but I quickly learned how debilitating a psychiatric illness could be, and how quickly psychiatrists could help their patients regain control of their life and wellbeing.
