About Me: I grew up in Reston, Virginia, and attended Virginia Tech, where I majored in Biological Sciences with a Biomedical focus and minored in Medicine and Society. I remained in Blacksburg for medical school at VCOM–Virginia, where my clinical experiences solidified my decision to pursue psychiatry. I was drawn to my residency program by the strong sense of community, collaborative culture, and commitment to resident development that I experienced during my audition rotation. Since then, my training has given me the opportunity to care for patients across a variety of clinical settings and develop my own approach to the practice of psychiatry. As I approach the completion of residency, I look forward to carrying these experiences into the next stage of my career.

About Me: I was born in Cuba and raised in Naples Fl. My interest in mental health emerged during my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. As I completed my Psychiatry clerkship in medical school I knew this was the right field for me. I loved the variety of the patient population and the high acuity of care provided in the inpatient psychiatric unit.

About Me: I was born in Cuba but was raised in South and Central Florida. Through undergrad and my first years of medical school, I never imagined I would end up choosing psychiatry as my specialty. However, after my first week of psych clerkship rotations, I was hooked! Not only did psych perfectly merge my passion for medicine with my interest in psychology, but I quickly learned how debilitating a psychiatric illness could be, and how quickly psychiatrists could help their patients regain control of their life and wellbeing.
